Pictures from the past few months
It's been a while....
So much has been going on lately. I am doing a horrible job of keeping up with everything. I am going to try and recap everything that has been going on since my last blog. Pictures will follow.
Matt and I have reconnected lately. Our marriage is stronger then ever. I have been teaching as much as I can, trying to bring in money to help pay for our big move back to Canada. We are so very excited. 2 month left now!!!
Matt just returned from writing his Canadian Boards. He feels very confident about how they went, but says he will still feel nervous about opening up the email containing his marks, that won't be sent out for another 6 weeks! He had to fly to Calgary to write the test and said that being in Canada made him miss home a lot. He is even now more excited to move back to the Maritimes then ever before!! He brought me back ketchup chips (my fav and can't get them here in Texas) chocolate bars (ones you can only find in Canada) and of course. La piece de la resistance, Tim Hortons French Vanilla cappuccino mix. I just love my husband!! He knows the way to my heart!
In September I flew to Colorado to visit Kevin and Nikki. My brother and sister in law. I had an awesome time. I did get sick for the first few days, but i felt better by day 3. A couple of weekends ago we finally went camping. We enjoyed ourselves so much, that we are planing on going again the end of October.

New Age Hippy

So, lately I have been playing with the idea of a new age hippie. I say 'new age' because there really isn't any big thing that we could protest (not that there aren't things to protest, just not the same magnitude that hippies were once known for). I realized that I fall into this hippie category one afternoon while doing grocery shopping with my husband. We were making purchases based on numerous things such as cost, organic, carbon foot print, natural ingredients etc. then of course we get to the check out and use our reusable bags. It was at this point that I had to admit, even our toilet paper is eco friendly and low and behold I am a freaking yoga instructor....yup I am a hippie.
However, I am not the hippie from the 60's where free love ruled and what most people think about, when they hear the word 'hippie. I think that a lot of people are turning into a new age hippie at different levels. Some people compost, some recycle, some just enjoy tye dye, but on some level there is a little hippie in all of us. Its time we embrace it!
I don't believe in conventional medicine, I believe the body can heal itself, when given the proper tools. I believe that we need to pay attention to what we put into our bodies ( ie organic, local, carbon footprint etc) We need to educate the youth about exercise and being earth consciousness. Peace and Love on so many different levels. I am not one to get on a soap box or anything but I feel so strongly about taking care of the earth and one another that its hard not to get emotional sometimes.
Waking up yet feeling down.....
I've been slack lately on my blogging. So, lets see. Since the last post I have been teaching a lot. I am learning new things about myself the more I teach. Like for instance, I really enjoy teaching. I love it. I have never been so happy with a job before. Take yesterday for instance. I woke up on the wrong side of bed and for some reason couldn't get out of my funk. Even though Matt called me out on it. I just couldn't shake my crankiness. So, needless to say, I didn't feel like teaching any classes let alone the two I was scheduled for.
Nonetheless I went to work, put on some good music for the drive and went about my regular routine. I am quite sure that as I was talking my students through the opening breathing exercise I was letting go of my anger..I was able to breathe with everyone and was able to move past whatever it was so that I could be....happy. And not just happy, but really enjoying myself. Whatever was bothering me before, went away. I felt even more amazing after my second class. I was on cloud 9!! Now who on earth wouldn't want a job that can do that for you!! I am so lucky!!

I AM SUPER WOMEN!!
Today, the car wouldn't start. Well, actually nothing would, no radio, no lights nothing! So, upon further inspection and after talking to parents and friends we decided it was the battery's fault. Silly battery not pulling its own weight!!
So, Matt and I get on our scooter and head up to the local walmart and pick up a battery. When we get home Matt is exhausted (early morning classes are catching up with him) and so replacing the battery became my job, instead of ours. I looked on line for a few mins, figured out what I needed to do, and with a little elbow grease and sweat I DID IT!! I can't believe it! I am so very proud of myself. I must say, if it wasn't for my friend Meredith, I don't know if I would have had the courage to even try! THANKS Meredith!!!

Oh things I could buy....
So, the fridge doesn't keep things cool anymore and the freezer never really has.....I guess its either time to try another repair guy or buy a new one.
Oh fun!! Oh joy!! I am so excited to spend money on a fridge!! I can't think of a better way to spend $ 300! Oh wait yes I can....I could buy a new dress, some shoes, accessories. Maybe spend some time at a spa, or I could fly home to visit family, two months of phone bills.....the list could go on and on.
Needless to say, but I don't want to buy a fridge. But...if we can't find a way to fix ours, then we have no choice. POOP!!

Playoffs!!
Currently the NHL playoff are going on and I watch it quite religiously. Unfortunately when you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan you almost always have to chose a team to cheer for, because the Leafs never make it to playoffs. So, for a few years now I have been cheering for the Penguins. Sidney Crosby grew up in my home town so I figure I can at least support the guy who put Cole Harbour Nova Scotia on the map. Unfortunately, just recently the Penguins got beat out. So, now the question remains. Who to cheer for?
Its a big dilemma as I am not a fan of the Habs, but they are the only Canadian team left. I had decided I would cheer for Boston, but somehow they lost a 3-0 series by losing game 7 when they had a 3-0 lead. It was a disaster. So, in lieu of all this, I decided I will cheer for the Canadians. It appears that every team I cheer for is losing, will lose or has lost, so.....GO HABS!!!!! hahha now they too will lose!!
LEAFS FOREVER!!!!

Yoga
This year I decided it was time for a change. I quite my job and decided to pursue being a yoga teacher. I went through 2 months of an intensive program where I met so many amazing people. I learned a lot about my self. I learned that my body can handle a lot of yoga in one day. I learned that there is a lot of different ways to be a yogi, and I learned about eating healthier. Most of all, I learned that I really can do anything!! ( I know, lame...but I really do feel, that if I really want to do something, I can!)
Here is a picture of my classmates and me doing asana in the snow a few months back.

First post ever
Welcome to my blog. I started this blog because of a recommendation from a friend. Adele, thank you. This blog is meant to be a basic way for me to share with family and friends how things are going and whats new in my life. It is also a way to keep me accountable for my actions and what really matters most to me.
Its funny how life can get in the way of what really matters to you. I have decided to make sure that I maintain my goals and this blog is a simple way to do so.
